Material: 16 Gauge Sheet Bronze
Design: Illustrator vector drawing on a Wacom tablet, imported into Rhino.
Production Process: The drawing and text was engraved with a Whiteside 3/8″ 90 degree V-Groove Engraving Bit. The profile of the crest was cut out by hand with a jeweller’s saw. The crest was then sandblasted to remove burrs, before sanding and buffing.
Details of Project:
Name: Justin Lin
Date: December 2012
Purpose: The crest serves to hide a rather large cigarette burn on this wooden briefcase that I’ve been trying to restore.
