New project at ArtFab:

Title:  Robotic Gestures: learning expressive motion through feedback and self evaluation in throwing tasks

Investigators:  Joshua Bard (Assistant Professor, School of Architecture), Ali Momeni (Associate Professor, School of Art)

Abstract: We investigate tools, methodologies and potential applications of expressive robotic control.  We choose throwing as an exemplar gesture that is complex, personalized, has well-defined goals, and is optimized through a do-then-watch feedba

With support from a Frank-Ratchye Fund for Art at the Frontier (FRFAF) grant from the Studio for Creative Inquiry, the first round of studies were performed.  Click on the image below for more information.
